the environmental protection problem of tape in China?

Article provenance:未知 Popularity:Time:2020-09-01 22:11
Recently, the State Post Office issued the report on the development status and trend of green packaging in the field of express delivery in China (hereinafter referred to as the report).

According to the report, the total length of tape used by express delivery industry in 2015 is 16.985 billion meters, which can circle 425 circles around the equator of the earth.

The State Post Office also predicts that China will produce 30 billion express packages in 2019 and 50 billion by 2020. In the future, the consumption of packaging materials will be further expanded. In the face of such a huge express package, its recycling and reuse has become one of the focuses of attention.

In addition, in August this year, the State Post Office issued the implementation plan for promoting green packaging in express delivery industry. Although some measures have been taken, the situation of over packaging has not been fundamentally alleviated. With the explosion of online shopping, the amount of express packaging is bringing an unbearable burden to the environment.

The recovery rate of packaging is not high

It is understood that at present, the packaging materials of China's express delivery industry are mainly concentrated in seven categories: express waybill, envelope, plastic bag, woven bag, packing box (corrugated box), adhesive tape and internal buffer (filler).

According to the report, in 2019, China's express industry will consume about 20.7 billion express waybills, 3.1 billion woven bags, 8.268 billion plastic bags, 3.105 billion envelopes, 9.922 billion boxes, 16.985 billion meters of tape and 2.977 billion internal buffers.

Yan Sufei, a researcher at Zhongyan Puhua, said in an interview, "in recent years, with the development of e-commerce, the express industry has also risen rapidly. However, due to its rapid development and short time, even though the express orders are large, the market for the recycling and reuse of express packaging materials in China is not mature. "

From the treatment of its use, an industry insiders in an interview with reporters said that after the one-time use of document envelopes and express plastic bags, they are generally discarded as garbage. For paper packaging boxes, some recipients will choose to reuse them, but some recipients will choose to sell them as waste or discard them as garbage directly.

He also told reporters that under normal circumstances, the woven bags of express packaging for small package transportation will be used twice and then discarded as garbage. In contrast, the use rate of canvas bags will be very high, and they will be thrown away after three months of use.

In terms of the recycling channels of express packaging materials, Xu Yong, chief consultant of express logistics consulting network, said in an interview with reporters that at present, there are mainly several channels for recycling. One is that the express company recycles part of its own, but less than 3% of the cases use this channel to recycle packaging boxes and plastic bags. The second is to recycle part of the garbage through the classification of some cities; the third is that some waste collectors and households treat it as waste for recycling.

Data show that the overall recovery rate of packaging materials in China is less than 20%. In some developed countries, the recycling rate of paperboard packaging is about 45%, and that of plastic packaging is about 25%. However, the actual recovery rate of paperboard and plastic in express delivery industry in China is less than 10%. In this regard, "relatively speaking, China is still relatively backward in this respect."

In this regard, an industry personage disclosed to reporters, "this is mainly because China lacks a set of perfect recycling and reuse system in this field. In the face of such a large number of express packages, at present, in addition to the express waybill storage, storage and recycling (destruction) there are no unified requirements for other types of express packaging, which are handled by enterprises or consumers themselves. " However, most enterprises and consumers do not pay enough attention to this, and many of them are for the purpose of drawing and throwing them away at will.

In fact, in the express packaging, it is not only a matter of recycling and reuse. Some media have reported that there are some hidden dangers in the use of its packaging. In order to reduce costs, many small manufacturers use recycled materials from chemical waste, domestic waste and medical waste to produce express packaging plastic bags. It is understood that this plastic bag generally contains excessive heavy metals, bacteria, viruses and toxic organic substances and other pathogenic bodies. In addition, in the paper packaging, usually excessive fillers will be used to increase the weight of the paper. In addition, inferior ink will be used for printing, which will cause the residual harmful organic matter on the paper packaging to exceed the standard.

"Green" needs multi efforts

In the face of these situations, China's express industry has also made a beneficial attempt on green packaging, but it is not mature enough. In this regard, some professionals pointed out that China's green express industry wants to break the situation, but also from the source. Start packaging reduction and replace disposable consumables with recyclable consumables.

To solve the problem from the source, including changing the printing structure of packaging materials, saving ink, reducing the thickness of adhesive tape, using environmentally friendly carton materials and so on.

At present, some express companies have changed full plate printing to no shading printing, greatly reducing the use of ink. At the same time, on the premise that the performance index does not decline, some express companies also change the thickness of packaging tape from 0.07 mm to 0.06 mm, which greatly saves the use of materials.

In addition, the industry also pointed out that the e-commerce industry should also actively achieve lightweight packaging to achieve green express packaging. Through the analysis, the reporter found that
